I have always believed that my life is not really my life. There is a bigger power, one that guides me, teaches me and gifts me with this amazing life.
I am so lucky to have been gifted this amazing job as a photographer. I not only meet the most amazing clients but I have more quality time at home with my boys and husband.
Last year when I made the decision to take my photography full time I had dreams of owning my own studio. I remember driving through the Village in Pleasant View and dreaming of the time I would have a space on the corner with all the gorgeous windows.
Not long after that drive I met Melinda of The Brown Sugar Cake Room and owner of that exact location. It was by pure chance that I stopped in looking for a small office space, to find she was looking to take on a partner in her space. She wanted to downsize and focus more on starting a family.
And that is where our journey for the next year would start. I moved in and we created a space that was inviting to not only my clients, but a place for hers as well.
It wasn't long after I moved in that the Melinda's dream of becoming a mom became a reality....well x 2!! We quickly found out that they were pregnant with twins that would be due around Thanksgiving. For the next 9 months we met every week at the studio to capture Melinda's belly growing. It was the most magical and exciting thing I have honestly ever experienced. To see this beautiful soul who fought year after year to become a mom finally have that dream come to was just amazing.
And I was there to experience it and be a part of it.
God's path? His timing? I absolutely think so.
Now it's time for the next phase in our lives and business. Melinda has decided to downsize to a smaller space and kitchen and will focus more on providing gorgeous wedding cakes for all of her brides.
I will be moving my studio down the street and closer to that new yummy ice cream shop in Pleasant View! Don't worry we are not parting paths! We will still be entertaining our beautiful wedding couples in the new space, I just won't be able to smell her amazing baking anymore :)
Although I am sad to leave the Village and the space I share with Melinda, I am excited to have my own little space that is just mine.
I can't wait to show you all my wonderful space once I move in and it's finished in March!
I will leave you with a picture of what this journey and life is all about.
His wonderful grace.
Without all of that I would have never met Melinda, or these two precious babies. God is SO good and I couldn't be happier for Melinda!
